Life is a series of detours:

If you are not in a hurry, and if you take a moment to enjoy the scenery, you might even realize that it is the culmination of those detours that make the journey worth it. 

Like on a road with the detours sign pointing the way back to your normal route, there are people with the little orange vest on in life helping to point you through the detour. It's just harder to see their vest sometimes.
